Sweet Red Onion Vinaigrette and Balsamic Tamari Salad Dressing

These two fantastic salad dressings are great to have on hand for a quick and delicious salad! I like to prepare them when I am making a supper salad and then I store the extra in the fridge to use as we like.  Thanks to Tillie Schock and my Auntie Lorna for the recipe inspiration!

Sweet Red Onion Vinaigrette:

1/2 small red onion

1 c avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp dry mustard

1 tsp sea salt

1/4 c maple syrup

1/4 c apple cider vinegar

2 TBSP water

Make It:

Add all the ingredients to a blender, and blend until smooth. Pour dressing over the salad just before serving. Stores well refrigerated in a mason jar for a couple weeks.

A few combinations that are delicious with this salad dressing are:

  • Romaine lettuce, 1 orange (peeled and sliced), and 1/2 c toasted pecans
  • Baby greens with strawberry slices or mango and avocado cubes

Balsamic Tamari Salad Dressing

1/3 avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil

1/3 tamari sauce (low-sodium, gluten free)

1/3 balsamic vinegar

2 garlic cloves, crushed or minced

Make It:

Combine all the ingredients in a mason jar, and shake to emulsify. Pour on salad immediately before serving. Stores well refrigerated.

Happy Salad Making!
